Bishop William Wilkins, Jr. was born in the Bronx and is the last child of his five siblings. Bishop Wilkins was born into the Straight Way Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ Inc., Pastored by the late District Elder Hugh Williams Sr. Bishop Wilkins remained faithful to the ministry and the Bronx Diocese (Bishop William G. Fields) as a child. At the young age of 10 years old, Bishop Wilkins received Christ into his life at the Greater Refuge Temple Church and the Lord led me to join the church 3 years later. Bishop served in several capacities within the church: assistant sound engineer for The Hour of Truth Broadcast Ministry, Youth Council Vice President, member of the Cathedral Choir to which he later he became the President, Young People Union President, Site Coordinator of the W.L. Bonner Bible College Distant Learning Program NYC, member of the Board of Directors for the Greater Refuge Temple Outreach Services Inc. and International Congress President of the C.O.O.L.J. C. Bishop Wilkins also is the founder of the Youth Ministers Alliance under the Board of Presbyters for the Church of our Lord Jesus Christ Inc. where he worked with to train young ministers and provide them with peer fellowship opportunities.
In 1999 Bishop Wilkins graduated cum laude from College of New Rochelle and received Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology. In 2006 Bishop graduated with a Master’s of Science from The New School University Milano Graduate School in N.Y.C in Organizational Change Management and he also holds a MS in Organizational Development. Bishop Wilkins also attended the Church of Christ Bible Institute NYC well as W.L. Bonner College in South Carolina. Bishop Wilkins have worked in the not-for-profit field for over 12 years overseeing a variety of social programs for low-income families in the South Bronx and Manhattan communities as well as worked for the New York City Board of Education.
While faithfully serving in the ministry, Bishop Wilkins fell in love with, and married his beautiful wife, Lady Sarai Sanders of Indianapolis, Indiana and has two children who are the joy of his life Mya Fayth and William Blake. Currently, Bishop serves as Assistant Pastor of the Greater Refuge Temple and the Chairman of the International Convention Committee of the C.O.O.L.J. C. On August 11, 2001, Bishop Wilkins was ordained an Elder by the Church of our Lord Jesus Christ and in 2008 was appointed District Elder of the Greater Refuge Temple Diocese. In July of 2010 he was consecrated to the office of Bishop by the Church of Our lord Jesus Christ serving as one of two Assistant Bishop in the Greater Refuge Temple Diocese. Bishop Wilkins is also an active member of the United Chaplains of New York State. Bishop Wilkins attribute his accomplishments to the Lord Jesus Christ, to his mentors, and father in the Gospel, Bishop William L. Bonner.
